Welcome to Risk Roundup, an integrated Cyber-Security and Strategic-Security Risk Podcast.
Each one of us across nations currently stands on the verge of the most turbulent and transformative period in all of human history. As Information Technology, Genetics, Synthetic Biology, Nanotechnology, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Internet of Things and Blockchain merge and converge to make the once unachievable imagination possible, it is not only human and robot intelligence that will merge and create unthinkable possibilities, the likes of molecular manufacturing and synthetic biology will also bring earth shattering potential to build virtually any physical and/or chemical item quickly and inexpensively directly from pure information and /or organisms—creating complex security risks and challenges for each nation: its government, industries, organizations and academia (NGIOA).
The computer code, connected computers, internet and rapidly emerging technological convergence that is close to reaching the commercialization stage is about to create a technological tsunami. This will not only fundamentally change human lives, but will also create new industries, destroy a few industries, impact a large number of industry sectors, evaporate a number of businesses, create significant amount of hi-tech specialized and skilled jobs, destroy a large number of unskilled jobs, collapse a few nations and change the nature of an unprecedented number of security risks. It will be by far much more complex and much bigger than any security risks we face in cyberspace-geospace-space (CGS) currently!
We are probably in a most critical time where no decision or investment can be made without understanding the risks facing individuals and entities across NGIOA. With that in mind in 2015, Risk Group’s Cyber-Security and Strategic Security-Risk Research Centers launched “Risk Roundup”, an Integrated Cyber-Security & Strategic Security Risk Dialogue that would provide the first step on the CGS journey to fill the knowledge void of not only the digital global age but for the rapidly emerging technological super convergence.
We at Risk Group believe that Risk Management, Security and Peace walk together hand in hand. Though Security is related to management of threats and Peace to the management of conflict, Risk Management is related to management of threats as well as management of conflict, and it is not possible to conceive any one of the three without the existence of the other two. All three concepts feed into each other. We believe that the security we build for ourselves is precarious and uncertain until it is secured for everyone across nations. Tradition becomes our Security, so if we build a culture of managing risks effectively it will lead us to Security and Security will lead us to Peace.
Each one of us has a role to play in managing the complex independent and interdependent risks facing our nations. Get involved in managing your nation’s risks. Listen Risk Roundup Podcast to understand Risks
