Welcome to Future Farming. Through this new podcast you‘ll hear about how the world’s population will be feeding itself in the decades to come, with the obstacles and solutions that will come about in your life time, in your children’s life time and in your grand children’s life time. So the great idea of Future Farming is to look at the big challenges effecting the food chain. The big threats, the big ideas, the big picture. Sometimes to understand the big picture we are going to have to get down to the nitty gritty. We’ll get out in the field to get our hands dirty with growers facing water shortages, and follow efforts of the engineers, the geologists and weather men trying to get their heads round the problem. We’ll visit the ranches and labs that are battling the antibiotic resistant super bugs. We’ll ask why GMO could literally be as old as the hills. We’ll taste meatless-meat; we’ll meet the chickens that prefer an indoor life; we’ll print with 3-D food printers; we’ll climb high-rise buildings used for plant production; We’ll ask why Frankenfish could very well be your best friend at the supermarket; We’ll go head to head with climate change. And we will show how the agriculture industry will continue to feed us all long after every doomsayer has faded away into inaccuracies.
