Amid growing tensions over territorial disputes and increasingly confrontational security postures, Chinese leaders have been advocating for a new Asia Pacific security architecture. What exactly is this architecture? Does it symbolise China’s growing ambition for regional hegemony? Or is it ultimately a response to America’s rebalance to Asia?
