The water flows on the Truckee and other rivers in Nevada have finally slowed, bringing boaters and swimmers out in force. Even with low flows, moving water can still be very dangerous. To help promote water safety, The Nevada Department of Wildlife, the City of Reno, Truckee River Foundation and One Truckee River Initiative opened two life jacket loaner stations this summer to offer life jackets to people who use the Truckee River. This week Edwin sits down with Lynn Zonge, of the Truckee River Foundation, and Lynda S. Nelson, from the Nevada Land Trust, to talk about the Truckee River and life jacket loaner stations.
