In this first ever episode, I'm chronicling a training change right before my professional squash debut. I started running barefoot, and it was a revelation. If evolutionarily we're supposed to be "toe-strikers," why do we all land on our bony heels? I'll look at barefoot squash legend Hashim Khan, oft-injured basketball player Derrick Rose, and how Nike's shoes changed our natural stride.

Then something strange happened. My movement became absolutely transcendent.
