Macphun Tonality Pro Black & White Processing with Dan Hughes
On this episode of TheFIX, photographer and photo educator Dan Hughes joins us to talk about processing black & white images using the Macphun Tonality Pro plug-in for Lightroom and Photoshop. Tonality is available for the Mac OS as a stand-alone plug-in or app, or as part of Macphun’s Creative Kit suite of six photo editing apps, and it provides an excellent interface and toolkit for crafting black & white interpretations from your photographs. In his demo, Dan shows how to use the layers feature to customize the initial black & white conversion, and also how layer masks work so that adjustments can be applied with great precision to specific areas of the image. With the use of Smart Objects in Photoshop, Dan also shows how the edits you apply with Tonality can be flexible and editable just like standard Photoshop adjustment layers.
