My friend Bastian Hofmann (https://twitter.com/bastianhofmann) was flying to Brussels to speak at the PHPBenelux Conference (http://conference.phpbenelux.eu) that I organize. I picked him up from the airport, put him in my car and talked to him about his work, the city he lives in and the conference he is traveling to. Bastian works at ResearchGate (https://www.researchgate.net), an online platform where scientists and researchers can share information. The company was founded by researchers who were trying to solve a problem. Thanks to ResearchGate, scientists from all over the world have been able to work together and collaborated on a cure for certain diseases. They are literally changing the world with almost 9 million registered scientists. Read some of the success stories on their blog: https://www.researchgate.net/blog We also talk about Berlin, about the city, the architecture and the impact of the tech/startup scene. There's also some tech talk happening and Bastian wanted to shout out ReactJS (http://facebook.github.io/react/). We ended the conversation with 5 things you need to know about the PHPBenelux Conference. Bastian's top 5 goes as follows: 1) The talks 2) People from all over the world that come to the event 3) Belgian frites 4) Belgian beer 5) The legendary bumper cars The video footage of this interview is available on Youtube: https://youtu.be/pwpHWJH_UEU ► Follow me on Twitter - http://twitter.com/ThijsFeryn ► Watch my videos on Youtube - http://www.youtube.com/thijsferyn ► Subscribe on iTunes - http://itunes.feryn.eu ► Read my blog - http://blog.feryn.eu ► Check my presentations - http://talks.feryn.eu
