For those who work in an environment where the lingua franca is not their mother tongue, there is the risk that these people are disadvantaged at work. Certainly I sometimes feel that I am finding it difficult to “engage” with certain people given my level of italian. This is I am sure sometimes the same for you in English. The solution? Compensate for this lack in some other manner so that your effectiveness becomes extremely high and potent, overcoming any disadvantage that language can place upon you.
