Nancy and Lois transition into a passion job

The business partners have been able to create a viable business in a small town of only 30,000. By combining their skillsets, they have been able to build a solid business by providing customers with an amazing in-store experience and interaction through social media and their blog. They continue to support the community through involvement with the local food pantries and wildlife preserves. In an interview they can discuss:

Nancy spent 27 years working in various positions with State Farm Insurance while Lois’ passion for forestry and nature conservation led her to follow in her father’s footsteps to become a teacher. She taught Environmental Science and eventually earned her Master’s Degree. As they neared retirement age, corporate restructuring led them to reconsider their future plans and entertain the idea of becoming small business owners. Their combined passion for nature, made the Wild Birds Unlimited franchise a no-brainer and they opened in 2003.
