EDGE Podcast 06/20/17: E3: Electronic Entertainment Expo This week on the Periscope EDGE Podcast, we are joined by new-Periscopian, Kate as she dives head-first into the E3 conference held last week in Los Angeles, CA. So, what is E3? E3 stands for the Electronic Entertainment Expo, it’s basically one of the biggest video game industry events, where developers, producers, designers and everyone from the gaming industry can come together and share their latest and greatest creations with each other. It used to be a very industry focused event, but this year E3 tried to make the event more consumer-facing by taking this invite only event, and opening it up to a small number of video game fans! The event not only highlights the hardware and games players can expect later this year, but also provides a sense of the direction the developers and publishers behind them are headed. It acts as a great case study for advertisers to look at to see how social media, audience engagement, new technology and overall trends will play in our lives and if we can find any valuable insights or take aways!
