Seasonal water flow is a tremendous resource. This episode is about how you can find that perfect property to buy and start a homestead on. It seems pretty clear to me that not many people get the opportunity to start from scratch. We might all dream of it… A paid-for parcel of land that has all the right features including a home we built ourselves. However, practically speaking, many people will find themselves in a situation where they work a job, or perhaps already have a family, and making that transition is very difficult for most. But the desire to be more self-sustainable, even if off-grid doesn’t seem like a real option pulls the family out of the suburbs and into the more rural countryside. But where? How do you choose that perfect homestead site? One of the reasons we wanted a property outside city limits is to be away from lights that diminish the view of the night sky. In this episode I talk about what you should be considering in making a selection, and then once a selection is made what you should continue looking for on your property.
