The second of a four part episode series derived from a Skype interview with coach Gil Patterson who shares some intimate history about his career in baseball, the things he has learned in the system, as a parent and as a coach. Coach Gil was first round draft pick five times! After his short career as a pitcher for his dream team, the New York Yankees, where he suffered shoulder injuries that led to seven surgeries, ending his career as a player. Beginning his career as a coach. Gil has coached and developed pitchers for several teams, most notably the New York Yankees. During this interview in August of 2015, Coach Patterson held the position of Pitching Director for the New York Yankees and has since returned to work for Billy Beane, of the Oakland Athletics.
