Shownotes

If you're a runner, eventually, you will most likely want to race. Entering your first race can seem daunting. What do I wear if it's a blizzard? How early do I show up at the starting line? What if I have to pee after a mile and half? How soon before the race do I start training? There are no stupid questions and Jill Mestler is here to answer them about lining up for your first 5K. Jill is a busy mother of 3 and still has the time and energy to run a sub-three-hour marathon. As a star high school runner in Enumclaw, Washington, she was a state champion on the track and National Junior Olympic Champion in Cross Country. She enjoyed a successful collegiate career at the University of Oregon where she earned her bachelors degree in Exercise and Movement Science. She also holds a Masters Degree in Human Biology. Currently, she is the events director for Court Appointed Special Advocates, or “CASA”, a local nonprofit that provides a powerful voice for abused and neglected children in Lane County, and is gearing up for their annual 6K fundraiser. Maybe you'll make this your first race! She'll tell us more. You are welcome to call in during our show and ask Jill your questions about running your first race at (858) 220-7921
