True Blue LA   /     Podcast episode 1801: The slow offseason

Summary

Our first podcast of 2018 doesn’t bring with it too much Dodgers news, other than the trade for Scott Alexander and what that might mean. We discuss the slow MLB offseason and how that has made this winter seem so very long. We have such a thirst for news that even the most innocuous Yasiel Puig / Jackie Bradley Jr. trade rumor got discussed even if it barely even got off the ground. Also in this episode was an appreciation of John Shoemaker, who has been with the Dodgers going on 42 years, the overwhelming bulk of which has been at the lower levels of minor league development. Shoemaker will manage Class-A Great Lakes in 2018, his 10th different city as manager and 25th season as a manager on the Dodgers’ farm.
