Shownotes

As the return of action to the UFC Octagon draws near, Shaheen Al-Shatti of MMAFighting.com returns to the program to discuss some of the bigger overall subjects floating around the MMA world right now.

To kick things off, we look at the lightweight division (3:00) and how Conor McGregor will play a pivotal role in determining where that division goes following UFC 205.

That discussion bleeds into a similar conversation about the middleweight ranks (10:00), where champion Michael Bisping has been courting big names, but now has a legitimate challenger ready and waiting to meet him in the cage.

Following her appearance on Ellen on Tuesday, we had to talk about the returning Ronda Rousey (19:30) and her “one of my last fights” comment, including how long she might stick around and where we see her career heading after fighting.

Lastly, we discuss Shaheen’s recent piece on the efforts of the Professional Fighters Association (PFA) and the strides they’re making in regards to bringing a union to the UFC (41:30).
