Tales From The Deep North   /     Episode 5: Life On The River

Description

Lee Dybvig came to Sandstone fifty years ago.  He's renowned locally for teaching the art of bent canoe paddle construction.  At seventy-five, Lee still loves biking, hiking, and especially canoeing. In this episode, we talk about the kinds of life choices that lead people to move here to the cutover land and the kind of life open to someone who loves exploring the Kettle River.  I truly enjoyed learning a part of Lee's story; it's inspiring to hear him discuss how his love of the outdoors led to a life of service. "Can You Canoe?" by the OkeeDokee brothers is used by permission.  Parents of young folks are more likely to know this band but adults will enjoy their wonderful songwriting and accomplished musicianship.  Check them out over at http://www.okeedokee.org/.
