Scriptown Brewing Company When the day job shipped me out to Nebraska for a week of coverage, I thought I could squeeze in a few visits to some local breweries. Unfortunately I only made it to one. But the one I made it to was a really cool and unique place in the heart of Omaha.Scriptown Brewing is billed as a Session Brewery. Here i enjoyed some really good stuff, and in the process made some new friends. I cannot say enough for how good their beer is here, or how friendly the staff and owners are. Nebraska, you have a gem in this place. I hope the future finds them well and constantly growing to serve a market they are primed for not only breaking into, but securing a good share of the Craft Beer scene in the area.When walking through the doors for the first time, you get the cozy feel of an urban saloon in a way. Distressed brick walls inside that have murals from the Piggly Wiggly that was here in years past. Very nice and rustic woodworking compliment the atmosphere and make you want to pull seat up to the bar and have a great beer.This is the newest brewery I have had the privilege of interviewing, only opening in December of 2014. A large viewing window allows patrons a glimpse at the inner workings that John and his son take so much pride in. During the interview we spoke about a great deal of the inner workings that John and Scott had to endure to allow this dream to come true. From financial advice to tricks of the trade, this interview has it all.Yes they are small, yes they are just getting started, but YES they have some great beer here.
