Outlining the limitations and exigencies of mapping in different periods, the various types of map, from estate maps, street directories, administrative maps etc., Goodbody surveys the mapping heritage of the city interpreting the maps under discussion, highlighting idiosyncracies and pointing to the developments in mapping the city.
