Todd Crevier is the founder and president of New England Adventures.  New England Adventures hosts all expense paid outdoor sporting events and therapeutic outdoor activities for New England veterans, current service members, and their families. Todd Crevier- Serving My Country Todd joined the Army after September 11, 2001.  He knew the country would be in need of people to stand in the gaps.  He was 25 at the time and knew it was time to serve his country. Todd received orders to deploy to Iraq in December 2003 and deployed in 2004 as a 50 Cal Machine Gunner and convey security for a field hauling unit. He got out of the Army and 3 years later he rejoined and worked logistics for 7 years and was stage 2 hypertension, had a bought skin cancer and ended up losing the vision in his right eye.  Todd’s last day in uniform was October 6, 2014 after getting results from the med board. “I loved  being a soldier, I loved leading soldiers, I loved being an NCO, I loved working for a cause that was bigger than myself.” – Todd Crevier Finding His Way Todd  was recruited by TJX Companies to work in Bloomfield, CN as an operations manager.  After about 3-4 months Todd was told that the company didn’t think it was a great fit.  He lasted about 14 months and was continuing deal with back issues. The VA was in charge of his back issues and sent meds directly to his house and he ended up getting addicted to his pain meds.  He lost his community, his marriage failed and he suffered in the transition from military to civilian life. He continued to go through jobs and getting fired due to lack of ability to get along with others.  The VA finally declared Todd 100% unemployable. At this point Todd was on several pain killers and other meds prescribed by the VA. “I went into my doctors office in my local VA clinic and gave her my grocery bag full of meds and told her I was all done and I couldn’t do it anymore.  She said you can’t do that and I told her it was my body and I’m not putting this stuff in it anymore and I walked out the door and I quit and I have been clean ever since.” – Todd Crevier New England Adventures Todd was able to make New England Adventures a reality and started his journey in 2015.  He was able to give 100% of his time to New England Adventures and it became his rehab and therapy.  It has given him his community back and has allowed him to help his brothers and sisters to find community again through the outdoors. “It became a lifesaver for me in several ways.” – Todd Crevier To hear more from Todd Crevier and his experience and journey, download this episode.
