Speaker: Prof. Steve Schifferes, Marjorie Deane Professor, City University London Steve Schifferes is the Marjorie Deane Professor of Financial Journalism at City University London, where he is setting up an MA in financial journalism. Steve was previously the BBC News website economics correspondent covering the financial crisis, and the online producer of the BBC series on the anniversary of the Lehman bankruptcy, Aftershock. Steve was also the BBC online Washington correspondent during the Iraq war, the editor of the business news section of the BBC news website, and covered both the Obama election and the UK General Election for BBC News. He was educated at Harvard and Warwick and was a Knight-Bagehot Fellow in Economic Journalism at Columbia School of Journalism and BBC Reuters Fellow at Green College Oxford and the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism.
