Eagles Mere 2004

This program was taped at a beautiful privately owned airfield located north of Williamsport, PA., called Merritt Field.  The airport features a privately owned aircraft museum where the owner opens his field and museum to visitors.  The footage was taped two consecutive years at the annual fly-in hosted by the owner, George Jenkins.  Jenkins has a tradition of opening his field for the community who enjoys the sights and sounds of his many antique aircraft. Additional historic aircraft add to the event at Jenkins’ field, and make a great free summer event for the community, and aviation lovers.  Jenkins even fed the visiting crowd with a catered lunch. Jenkins loves antique aircraft and it is because of his efforts that many important antique aircraft are being preserved and flown for all to enjoy.  There is no narration during these programs, but the footage and sound of the old engines carries the beauty of the great aircraft featured in these programs.  In both of these segments there are beautiful shots of Stearman, WACO, Travel Air, Beech, J-3 Cub, four Pitcairn Mailplanes, and many other antique aircraft.
