If you live in northern Minnesota, you know that April is generally way too early to get out in the garden. Nevertheless, Beltrami County Master Gardener Becky Livermore offers some things we can do right now – while sheltering in place - to get ready for the upcoming garden season. She visited with Maggie Montgomery and Katie Carter on KAXE/KBXE’s Wednesday Morning Show, and offered advice on planning, seed starting, finding poles for pole beans, raking, and lifting up the mulch to look for plants coming up underneath. A couple things to remember, as you listen to her radio interview (below): “Be a little bit patient. Gauge your activity to the weather and what your site is like.” Because it’s still early! If you have gardening questions, Master Gardeners can help you. Beltrami County Master Gardeners operate a helpline . Call to record your question and a Master Gardener will call you back to help: 218/444-7916
