Description

Are you an introvert or an extrovert? Do you know the difference? Shane and Jen explore the topic of introverts and meeting their needs in the classroom, along with guests, Juli Gardner, an administrator at CSD and Susan Ban, 9th grade English teacher. In part 1, we talk about some definitions, research and cultural look at introversion. In Part 2 (coming in 2 weeks), we will look more at teaching introverts and helping them feel included in our classrooms. Here are some resources if you'd like to explore and read further about introversion:Here is a cool article from Susan Cain for parents of teens.https://yourteenmag.com/family-life/communication/susan-cain-introverted-teenagerA very good read for better understanding from an extroverted teacher's point of view:http://www.changekidslives.org/thoughts-10/A great look at how introverts interact with the world:https://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/11/07/physical-behavior-of-introverts_n_6069438.htmlI HIGHLY recommend Susan Cain's Ted Talk for ALL of us.
