Richard Wilcocks’s poem “Dorothy Wilkinson, Suffragette” published in the anthology And The Stones Fell Open: A Leeds Poetry Anthology available here is a wonderful poem to share at any time, but we are sharing this to celebrate International Women’s Day on 8th March 2021.

Richard sings with Leeds Festival Chorus and in 2018 curated the ‘War Requiem Exhibition’ in Leeds Town Hall of photos of ancestors of singers who lived at the time of the First World War in 2018. This poem was inspired by this work and is one of a series.
