Use Everything You Can

The temptation of a long weekend is to just continue not doing any work. But we’ve been bringing you the latest news coming out of the residential weekly and we aren’t going to stop now. Joining us this week is Executive Editor for Residential Tech Today Jeremy Glowacki, Co-CEO of CEDIA Giles Sutton and the voice of Executive Director for the PowerHouse Alliance Dennis Holzer.

The Powerhouse Alliance and CEDIA have partnered up to expand their in-person training programs. This is the first partnership like this for CEDIA, bringing training courses to over 55 locations throughout the US in 2021. And it just so happens we have some people involved with this story on. We ask both Giles and Dennis about what led their respective organizations to come together, the importance of hands-on training for integrators, and the future of training for the industry.

Next we talk about 5G and the potential impact it could have for the home space. Is it going to be the standard for signal as technology marches on? What about other internet systems like Starlink? What about the can of worms that is regulation? Looking at the factors involved and how it will be affecting the residential space for both consumers and integrators.

In addition to in-person training, CEDIA has announced they will be offering members access to the “Grow with Google” courses through CEDIA Academy. Talking about the importance of technical training for those in the industry and what learning from manufacturers can do for our industry.
