Journey into Twilight   /     Journey into Twilight - Murderous Intellectuals

Summary

Jonathan Maxwell returns to the program to discuss what may be a very important and relevant topic for today. Many people on all sides of the political spectrum express a lot of fear and concern about what is happening in the world and they all have solutions.  Increasingly we hear words like "disenfranchised" as people feel that they are being overwhelmed by their opposition.  So far this has all been political and in the arena of ideas, but could it get worse?  Are our rights and freedoms going to be threatened beyond mere inconvenience?  In his book, Murderous Intellectuals: German Elites and the Nazi SS, Jonathan explored what made the atrocities of World War II possible.  We'll discuss the climate and realities of that time in relation to what is happening in society today, This will not be a show about politics, but a look at how humans can be transformed through their circumstances.  How do we prevent our own ideals from making us tolerant of dehumanizing those who oppose us and terrible things done for the right reasons. See the show notes for updated links and information. Don't forget to call in live and be part of the conversation!
