Summary

Conventions are upon us and it is all being kicked off by International Table Top Day. We hope you had a good experience and played a few games on April 29th. What is so interesting is that we went old school this year and pulled out some classics and enjoyed them. Just goes to show that you really do need to take a look at what might be collecting dust on your shelf and give it a try and who knows, you might even discover something that makes you wonder how you lived without that game in the past. Or better yet, you might discover a rule to a game that you know cold, but then something that never has occurred happens and there is an “Ohhhh, I didn’t know that” moment.
Marty got to enjoy CMON Expo in Atlanta again and while the games where good, the food was incredible. He got to see some of the newest games to try, but there was a minor issue due to limited amounts of the games. However, it was still a great experience and the swag bag was incredible. Speaking of new CMON games that are coming out, The Godfather will be out at the end of June and if you missed the announcement, it is going to be the first game in the collaborative effort known as Tabletop Showcase. We are teaming up with Watch It Played, The Secret Cabal, Drive Thru Review, Pair of Dice Paradise, and Board Game Replay to bring a week long series media content on a featured game. You can find more information on the website by clicking in this area.
Our game for this episode a great two player game called 13 Days: The Cuban Missile Crisis. People have said that this game gives you a flavor for the epic scale Twilight Struggle and even though we haven’t played it, if it is anything like 13 Days, we would like it. 13 Days is so simple but yet, very deep and well worth your time to give it a try. Plus it is at a great cost point. However, be sure to have the BGG website handy for there will bound to be questions.
Don’t forget that the contest for guessing the box office draw on opening weekend for the movie Wonder Woman. Deadline to enter is May 31st.
