It's been a year and a half since Baron and I set off to drink ayahuasca at Dr. Gabor Maté's exclusive jungle retreat to meet our shaman. During that time, much has transpired in our personal and professional lives as a result of the teachings we received there as well as our continued work with our ayahuasqueros. Baron, for example, can now be seen in his documentary Fatherless, the third season of Grace and Frankie, Mystery Science Theater 3000, and soon, Comedy Central's The New Negroes. We return to talk about our continued journeys in order to raise money for an upcoming documentary, The Path of the Shaman, about the man we work with the most, Ronin Niwe, or as the Western world calls him: Dave. In this episode Baron and I talk about updates to our own lives, dish on Gabor, and discuss our initial impressions of our unconventionally civilized shamans. Beyond this, Baron also sings Hairspray's "Aquarius", we lament the limits of Western medicine/science, and we discuss why children in horror movies are so damn creepy. Also Ip Man plays into this. Somehow. Come join the party, and please donate to the film's indiegogo! https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-path-of-the-shaman-documentary#/ https://www.pathoftheshaman.com http://philoofhealth.org/2017/05/path-of-the-shaman.html
