Shownotes

The growing importance of digital technologies for sustainable rainforest and climate protection is accompanied by profound challenges related to their deployment and use. How can digital skills and technologies be trained and implemented in remote regions where the rainforest is of particular importance for local development?

Dr. Roeland Hemsteede conducted a study on rainforest protection & digital solutions. Its focus is on ensuring Open Access to various data (e.g. from satellites), improving digital literacy & funding for tech-based rainforest conservation projects. We had the chance to talk to him about his findings and to Florian Reimer, Chief Climate Officer at Koltiva, an agri tech company which is working on making the working conditions of the farmers more transparent to a broad audience.
