The summer course was led by Dr. Stephanie Leitch, who is also our guest in this episode. Stephanie Leitch majored in art history and received her Ph. D. from the University of Chicago in 2005. She has been an associate professor in the Department of Art History at Florida State University since 2011. Her newest book „Early Modern Print Media and the Art of Observation: Training a Literate Eye“ (Cambridge University Press) is just in the process of being published and will be available next year. The 45th International Wolfenbüttel Summer Course took place from July 17 until July 28. And it‘s title and subject was „Early Modern Visual Data: Organizing Knowledge in Printed Books“. The two week summer courses in the Herzog August Bibliothek takes place annually and is intended for PhD students.
