Konfliktgespräche   /     Seeing through the eyes of those affected: Anti-Muslim Racism in Germany

Summary

Attacks on religious institutions such as mosques and other places identified as Muslim show that anti-Muslim racism is clearly still a major problem in Germany. Experiences of exclusion can lead to avoidance behaviour. Young Muslims in particular report that they are constantly exposed to religious microaggressions and misunderstandings. In this episode of the series 'Racism & Discrimination' - the 9th episode of the conflict talks (Konfliktgespräche) - sociologist Isabell Diekmann (TU Dortmund / IKG Bielefeld) talks to psychologist Zeynep Demir (DeZIM Institute Berlin / IKG Bielefeld) about the effects of anti-Muslim racism and hostility on the well-being and health of Muslims.
