The CineSportsTalk Podcast Network   /     The Put it in the Books Show S7 E18: Mets' Wild Card Chase and West Coast Wars

Description

In this week's episode of *The Put it in the Books Show*, Farace, Rodriguez, and Keith are back to dissect the latest Mets action—while Producer Joe takes half the show off, presumably to rest up for his next mysterious appearance behind the wall. The Mets are coming off a successful stretch, taking 4 of 6 from the Marlins and Orioles, complete with the kind of dramatics that make you wonder if the team secretly moonlights in Broadway musicals. With just 36 games left to determine if the Mets will be playing in October or just planning their fall vacations, the tension is higher than Rodriguez’s blood pressure during a close game. Francisco Lindor made history, becoming the first shortstop ever to hit at least 25 home runs and steal 25 bases in three or more seasons. It’s a stat so impressive, even Keith had to pause his rant on bullpen usage to give a nod of approval. But the real test is on the horizon as the Mets prepare for their most crucial road trip of the season: four games against the Padres and three against the Diamondbacks—both teams that are ahead of the Mets in the wild card standings. It’s a West Coast showdown that could make or break the season, or at least give Farace something to yell about. Tune in as the guys break it all down with their usual mix of dry humor and reluctant optimism. Whether or not the Mets make it to October, this episode will have you more entertained than watching Keith try to explain sabermetrics. #PiitB #Mets --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/popculturepros/support
