• Also today in 1956, The Million Dollar Quartet (Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Johnny Cash) got together at Sun Studio for the first and last time.
• It was on this date in 1965, that Launch of Gemini 7 with crew members Frank Borman and Jim Lovell. The Gemini 7 spacecraft was the passive target for the first crewed space rendezvous performed by the crew of Gemini 6A.
• It was 33 years ago today, that Pan American World Airways ceased its operations after 64 years.
