The Sixers announced that Jared McCain will be out indefinitely as he needs surgery to repair a lateral meniscus tear in his left knee. The injury was first reported by Jake Fischer of The Stein Line.
McCain first informed the Sixers that he was experiencing soreness in the knee after Friday night's loss to the Indiana Pacers. McCain, the 16th pick in last June's draft, was a frontrunner for the league's Rookie of the Year award, averaging 15.3 points and 2.6 assists in 23 appearances so far.
