1554 wird eine Prachthandschrift von Gedichten fertiggestellt – verfasst vom osmanischen Sultan Süleyman I. (r. 1520-1566). Darin greift er nicht nur poltische Themen seiner Zeit auf, sondern vermittelt auch ein Bild von sich an seine Untertanen.
Wie sein Werk zur Rolle von Dichtung am Hof und im Alltag passt und wie diese Handschrift im Hamburger Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe landete, erzählt uns Dr. Christiane Czygan vom Instabulder Orient Institut.
