Podcast 7: Robots and Artificial Intelligence Hello and Welcome to BILLION DOLLAR IDEAS LADY PODCAST Every Tuesday, I introduce a new business idea that can generate billions of dollars per year. Today’s idea is: Robots and Artificial Intelligence US government has tightened immigration. Raised minimum wage. Result – Maids are not available for less than $20-25 per hour on individual basis and $35-45 dollars per hour through an agency at a minimum. A normal town home of 2 bedroom 2 bath costs $110-180 per cleaning. Not affordable by many house-holds. Robot – Cleaning Services It has been over 50 years since vaccum cleaners, dishwashers, washers and dryers were invented. Today’s time demands that all these tasks of cleaning, laundry be completely handled by a robot as humans with nominal pay aren’t allowed to immigrate to USA. Students or Single People or Married Couples or Senior Citizens – Will benefit as students will spend more time on studying and inventing rather than boring chores of cleaning. Single people usually work more hours at their job and need the extra help. Married couples will spend more quality time with their families and won’t be stressed out with the demands of work after work. Senior citizens or disabled people who need assistance will benefit greatly at a much lower cost. Advantage: Many industries that rent or sell these cleaning robots or design, manufacture, program and train them will spring up creating a lot more jobs at a higher pay scale. Robot – Cooking Services If people can have someone prepare them smoothie or tea/coffee with breakfast in the morning, more people could devote the extra 30 minutes for yoga or exercise. And when they come home a delicious warm home cooked meal would be ready for them. This would promote healthy eating, less diseases and less stress especially for women who have to come and work after a full day of work. Advantage: Imagine the amount of money saved on billions of dollars on medical bills incurred for obesity and bad health if people ate fresh food rather than frozen and fast food or quickly put together meal. Robot – Medical Assistance To assist disabled people to and from their wheelchairs, to lift them and bathe them and help them to go to the bathroom. This would allow a lot of elderly and disabled people to live with their loved ones instead of Rehab facilities as they won’t be a burden on them for work or time. Instead they can enjoy a warm relationship. Yes, there is a debate over AI taking over humans. However, robots can be given simple tasks to do the cooking, cleaning and medical assistance without too much of Artificial Intelligence.
