A Common Symbol (Español abajo)
The @ is called the at symbol or the at sign. You will hear people call it both names. I believe the @ is technically a symbol, but many people refer to it as a sign, and it’s not incorrect in everyday English to say either one. Nowadays, the @ is very common because of email. The symbol is used in all email addresses, and when you tell someone your email address you say the word at for the symbol.
How to Correctly Say Your Email Address
At some point you will need to tell someone your email address, and for this reason it’s important to know how to say it. Of course, you will first need to know how to say the letters of the alphabet in English. (Or at least the letters in your email address!) If you’re struggling with how to pronounce the English alphabet check out this video.  If you already know the names of the letters, then let’s take a look at an example of how to say an email address.
Example of an Email Address
If a person named John Doe has an email address of jdoe@gmail.com, he would tell another person his email by saying each letter out loud, and say the word at for the symbol, @. For example,  j-d-o-e-at-gmail-dot-com. Because gmail is a popular email service, it really isn’t necessary to spell the word, so you can just say the word gmail. Also note, that the punctuation mark before com is called a dot. When talking about English grammar this punctuation mark is called a period, but when saying an email address or the name of a website, a person calls it a dot. The @ Used as an Abbreviation
Sometimes when people write in English they use abbreviations. This is done to save space or to save time when taking notes in class, for example. Take a look at this photo to see a sign that someone made with the @ used as an abbreviation for the word at. The sign was in an office where clients needed to sign in before their appointment.

Creo que el @ es técnicamente un sÃmbolo, pero muchas personas se refieren a él como un signo, y no es incorrecto en el diario inglés para decir cualquiera de los dos. Hoy en dÃa, el @ es muy común por causa de correo electrónico. El sÃmbolo se utiliza en todas las direcciones de correo electrónico, y cuando te dices a alguien tu dirección de correo electrónico que dices la palabra at para el sÃmbolo.
Cómo Decir Correctamente tu Dirección de Correo Electrónico
En algún momento tendrás que decirle a alguien tu dirección de correo electrónico, y por esta razón es importante saber cómo decirlo. Por supuesto, primero necesitarás saber cómo decir las letras del alfabeto en inglés. (¡O por lo menos las letras en tu dirección de correo electrónico!) Ejemplo de una Dirección de Correo Electrónico
Si una persona llamada John Doe tiene una dirección de correo electrónico de jdoe@gmail.com, le dirÃa a otra persona su correo electrónico diciendo cada letra en voz alta, y se dice la palabra at para el sÃmbolo de @. Por ejemplo, j-d-o-e-at-gmail-dot-com. Debido a que gmail es un servicio de correo electrónico popular, realmente no es necesario deletrear la palabra, por lo que sólo puedes decir la palabra gmail. Observe también que la marca de puntuación antes de com se llama dot. Cuando se habla de gramática inglesa, este signo de puntuación se denomina period, pero al decir una dirección de correo electrónico o el nombre de un sitio web, una persona lo llama dot. El @ Utilizado como una Abreviatura
A veces, cuando las personas escriben en inglés usan abreviaturas. Esto se hace para ahorrar espacio o para ahorrar tiempo al tomar notas en clase, por ejemplo. Echa un vistazo a esta foto para ver un letrero que alguien hizo con el @ utilizado como una abreviatura de la palabra at.
