Shownotes

On this episode, Adam is joined by Tom McIntyre who, over his long and illustrious career as a writer and author in the hunting field, has had the good fortune to hunt all over the globe.

Tom’s true passion however, is Africa, and in his latest book Augusts in Africa, he shares the unique perspectives and experiences he’s gleaned from hunting on the Dark Continent over the past 40 years.

What makes this book so unique, however, is the multi-decade approach Tom takes to telling not only his stories but also the story of hunting and conservation in Africa, and just how much the safari experience has changed over the years.

In the pages of this book, you won’t find the typically glorified “rich man’s African safari” tales. This is a book about a deep love and respect for a land, its people and the game animals that roam its storied savannahs, jungles and veldt.

Regardless of your opinion on hunting in Africa, what happens there impacts hunters and the public perception of hunting around the globe. Tom’s book and this interview are not to be missed!
