Summary

Our world changed overnight and dentistry needed to adapt quickly.  How effective are we managing dental aerosols in our offices after returning to practice during the COVID-19 pandemic?  In this episode, Penny Reed interviews Dr. Julie Spaniel as she share how to learn steps you can take to limit contagious exposures to your team and other patients.
About Dr. Julie Spaniel:
For nearly 30 years, Dr. Julie Spaniel has helped redefine the dentist-client relationship by cultivating a rapport with customers while skillfully focusing on their dental needs. A native of Ann Arbor, Michigan-by way of Oregon working at Portland Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center- Spaniel spent 25 years in Vermont raising her 4 children while building her successful, large general dental practice. Now in the Portland-metro area, Spaniel continues her successful business model to Oregonians who value her extraordinary level of expertise and commitment to the ‘personal touch’ dental care. At Summerwood, we have a team of clinicians who strongly believe our patients deserve the best care and we pride ourselves in our commitment to their dental health. We establish trust one patient at a time. Currently, Summerwood has designated unique treatment rooms in response to the pandemic. Each room is specially isolated from the other rooms and dental chairs have an overhead aerosol extraction flume connected to a virus-capture HEPA filter. This means 99.9% of all viruses and no aerosols will leave the treatment rooms.
